Admittance
Sell event tickets as WooCommerce products, email a named ticket with a QR code per seat, and check people in at the door from a phone.
Admittance is for shops, venues and clubs that sell entry to their own events through WooCommerce.
Inside Admittance
A ticket per seat, named
an order for three seats makes three tickets, each with the name the buyer typed at checkout (or the buyer's own name). Tickets are issued once, however many times an order is saved.
In the order email
each ticket shows the event, the date and venue, the name, a QR code and the code in letters. The QR is drawn as table cells, so Gmail and Outlook show it without loading a picture.
At the door, from a phone
the QR holds a check-in link. Door staff (signed in) scan it with the phone's own camera and the check-in page opens with the code filled in; a handheld scanner or typing works too. Letters O, I and L typed at the door are read as 0, 1 and 1.
The door says exactly what is wrong
admit (named), already in (at what time, by whom), void (refunded, cancelled or failed payment), wrong event for this door, doors not open yet, or not one of ours. Only "admit" is green. A mistaken check-in can be undone.
Codes that cannot be guessed
each code carries a signature made with your site's own secret, so a made-up or mistyped code is refused on the spot.
Seats and limits
a seat limit per event and a most-per-order limit, checked when a ticket goes in the cart.
The list
every event's sold, in, still to come, void and seats left, the attendee list, and the list as CSV.

Asked first
Does the door need an app?
No. The phone's own camera reads the QR and opens the check-in page in the browser. Staff must be signed in to the site.
What if a phone will not scan?
Type the code from the ticket into the Door page. Spaces, dashes and lower case are fine.
Can someone make a fake ticket?
A code that was not issued by your site fails its signature and the door says "Not one of ours". A copied ticket is admitted once; the second time the door says "Already in" and when.
What happens on a refund?
The order's tickets become void and the door says "Do not admit".
