Manifest

Load your suppliers' spreadsheets into WooCommerce: their column names, their separators, variations in the same file, and a dry run of every change before anything is written.

Manifest is for WooCommerce shops that get a stock and price sheet from each supplier, every month, in that supplier's own format.

What it does

Inside Manifest

Any CSV

comma, semicolon, tab or pipe separated, quoted fields, a byte-order mark, line breaks inside quotes. Prices written 1,234.50 or 1.234,50, with or without a currency sign.

Their column names, mapped once

"Item #", "List price", "On hand" - Manifest guesses the map from the names, you correct it, and it is saved per supplier with its separator and decimal mark. Next month's file maps itself.

Variations in the same file

a row with a parent SKU is a variation of that parent, and its Size, Color or any other attribute column says which one. A parent that only appears in the file is created as a variable product.

A dry run first

every row says create, update (with each field's old and new value), unchanged or refused, and why. Nothing is written until you press Import, and Import is only offered when nothing is refused.

What it refuses

a row with the wrong number of columns, a SKU twice in one file, stock that is negative or not a whole number, a price it cannot read, a new product with no name, a variation whose parent is nowhere, a variation with no attributes, and two variations of one parent with the same attributes.

What it warns about

a sale price at or above the regular price, and a price that moves more than your limit - a decimal slip turns 20,00 into 2,00 more often than a supplier halves a price.

Questions

Asked first

Does it delete products that are not in the file?

No. It creates and updates; it never deletes.

How big a file?

Up to 5 MB, imported in one go. Split a larger catalog and import the parts.
