A Pinterest Save button on your images that loads nothing from Pinterest - and words for each pin that leave your alt text alone.

Nothing from Pinterest is loaded
The button is a plain link to Pinterest's own save screen. No script of theirs, nothing tracking readers who never press it, nothing slowing the page.
Shows when it should
on hover, on keyboard focus, and always on phones and tablets (where there is no hover). Named for screen readers.
The right words
a Pinterest description for each image in the media library, or for the whole post, or "{title} - {site}" - never by stuffing words into alt text, which is for people who cannot see the picture.
Left alone
small images, avatars, smileys, anything with the class "nopin" or marked data-pin-nopin, SVGs and inline images.
Links stay links
an image that is itself a link gets its button beside the link, never inside it.
A tall Pinterest image per post (2:3 shows best - the box says if yours is not), kept out of sight for Pinterest's own browser button, and an optional "Save this post" button under each post.
