Wreath
In-honor and in-memory gifts with an e-card or a mailed card to the family - beside the donation form you already use.
For nonprofits that take gifts in honor or in memory of someone and have to let the family know.
Not tax advice.

Inside Wreath
The tribute form - in memory of / in honor of, the honoree, the donor, the amount, and how to tell the family: an e-card (on a date the donor picks, if they like), a card by mail, or none. Put it on your donation form's thank-you page; it works beside any donation plugin and takes no money itself.
The amount stays private - the family's card leaves it off unless the donor ticks that they may see it.
The to-do list - e-cards due, cards to print and post (with the envelope address under the card), mailed cards waiting more than 7 days marked late, and anything that cannot go as it stands (an e-card with no working email, an address missing its state or ZIP) put first.
$250+ acknowledgments with the "no goods or services" wording the IRS asks for, emailed from the list.
Honorees - every gift gathered under its honoree, even when typed as "Mr. John A. Smith" one time and "John Smith" the next, with a printable family summary of who gave (amounts only where the donor said so).
Checks - the same gift entered twice, and one honoree under several spellings.
